From cultural monuments to sports activities, from hiking in the mountains to natural oases, amusement parks and villages rich in history, the activities in the Veneto region are truly diverse and exciting and satisfy all tourists. The Belluno Dolomites are among the most beautiful mountains in the world and include some of the largest groups of the Dolomites, such as the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the Marmolada and the Civetta. When it comes to winter sports, Veneto boasts a total of 549 km of slopes, which skiers and snowboarders can indulge in the presence of spectacular scenery among the most beautiful mountains in the world. In Cortina d’Ampezzo, the “Queen of the Dolomites”, in a historic holiday resort, there are 120 km of slopes as well as a snow park, 60 km of cross-country ski trails and toboggan runs. In the Arabba / Marmolada area you can ski on 63 km long slopes, a few kilometers from the ski resort of Sellaronda (40 km between Arabba, Val Gardena, Alta Badia and Val di Fassa). In the Dolomites you can enjoy cross-country skiing or have fun in the snow park with activities designed for families with children. In the Civetta ski area between Alleghe, Selva di Cadore and Val di Zoldo there are 80 km of slopes and two snow parks with night skiing.
A kitchen that, thanks to Venice, was the first to welcome aromas and ingredients from around the world, such as corn, sugar and rice. Four basic ingredients of Venetian cuisine: rice, polenta, beans and cod, prepared in countless variations in different areas of the region and combined with a large number of vegetables, such as Radicchio Rosso di Treviso, Radicchio Variegato di Castelfranco, asparagus or onion. As an appetizer, the excellent “Fegato alla Veneziana” is veal liver and onion. Bean soup with pasta is also very tasty. The main dishes include Venetian snails cooked with garlic and parsley, donkey stewed in wine and vegetables served with polenta. Very popular desserts are Tiramisú, Pinza dessert, prepared from dried fruit and grappa, Fregolotta, dry pastry with almonds and Christmas cake Pandoro. Among the most famous wines of this region are Merlot, Cabernet, Merlot Grigio, Prosecco Valdobbiabene.
