WHAT TO TASTE

Abruzzo has a rich gastronomic tradition. The coast is dominated by fish dishes. However, the table is dominated by meat from the Abruzzo Mountains, especially in the Teramo and Aquila areas, where locals raise sheep. However, everywhere in Abruzzo they offer a variety of lamb, goat and sheep dishes. The main dish of the mountain areas is canned meat, such as ham, neck and Ventricina salami. Typical dishes in Abruzzo are complemented by regional DOC wines. Among the desserts, which are often made from almonds and honey, the famous Torroni, Confetti, Sulmon’s specialty, fried small balls of dough covered with honey, as well as Mostaccioli and the famous Bocconotto, typical of the Chieti region, stand out.
