In a charming alpine scenery, internationally renowned locations such as Sestriere, Val di Susa, Sause d’Oulx, Sansicario, Cesana, Calviere, Pragelato, Bardonecchia, Alagna, Limone Piemonte and others offer a wide network of pistes for various sports: from the steepest slopes to cross country, from ice skating to snowboarding. Adventure lovers can indulge in mountain climbing or rafting. Here you will find hiking routes of varying difficulty and some sections of the Via Alpina with equipped paths and shelters from Monviso to the mountains around Verbania.

WHAT IT TASTES

The most characteristic specialties of the regional cuisine are Fonduta and Bagna Cauda. Also excellent are mixed fried fish, Barolo (braised beef), hare in civet and a wide selection of cheeses. Gianduiotti chocolates made from hazelnuts are also characteristic. The best Italian red wines are produced in Piedmont: Barolo, Barbaresco, Gattinara, Ghemme, Nebbiolo, Freisa, Grignolino, Barbera, Dolcetto.
